Welcome to Cuddly Koala's Blog

Hello all and welcome to my blog, I am Julie and been hiking since a teenager and on family walks before that. I was once very serious about my walking but life changes and I have been away from the hiking scene for 15 years. In 2011 I restarted the interest and will be sharing my adventures with my companion, Lady, she is a Flat Coated Retriever.

Lady and I will hopefully be hiking in the Peak District, Lakes and Snowdonia.

Leire to Ullesthorpe (3.5 miles)

Today was a glorious day, the sun was shining, the sky was blue and Lady (my dog) and I went for an afternoon stroll.  We started our walk at Jubilee Park car park and followed the footpath along the top of the disused railway to the railway bridge where we rejoined the railway walk for a few hundred yards.  We then followed the footpath along the right hand side of the railway and through the Ullesthorpe Golf Course to Ullesthorpe.

The return walk may only be 3.5 miles but its a lovely peaceful walk with lots of bird song and some nice views over the golf course.
